Alberta Come and Gone

Ok, so on one hand, my time in Edmonton/Banff/Calgary over the holidays was pretty stellar. On the other hand, there was also an enveloping blanket of sadness and devastation because of the loss of a past co-worker/and friend (below post). But the legacy and stories left behind can't help but to inspire. If life in this world had a taste, it would certainly be BITTERSWEET.

A Tribute to Tal

Well Tal, it’s been a while but I’ll never forget meeting you at the bottom of the chairlift back in good ole Rabbit days. Your warmth was instant, your smile was huge, and so was your heart…definitely one of the most fun and friendly guys I met. Thanks for those times you stopped to chat at the lifts, your pink ski poles, telling me ways to trip our mutual bud Chris at the rope tow, and the snow wrestles you’d never let me win! I’m glad I ran into you and your brother that last time in BestBuy before leaving for Cayman…and getting the chance to chat on MSN from Toronto. You had time for everyone, and a passion for adventure that most could only dream about. I know that whenever anyone of us is on a mountain, we will think of you Tal. Keep on given ‘er.

Always loved his pink ski poles.

An amazing tribute to an amazing person.

Tal's friends skiing down Rabbit Hill with torches in hand...these lights are for you Tal - incredible.

You can't help but be amazed and find a little peace in his last journal entry:
